SKUDONET continues its commitment to innovation by releasing yet another update for its Enterprise Edition product. The new SKUDONET EE 10.0.5 update brings a range of enhancements and new features designed to optimize the platform and deliver a more seamless user experience, perfectly aligned with current demands.
One of the key changes in this version is the upgrade to Angular 18, which strengthens the graphical user interface (GUI) and significantly boosts performance. Below, we outline the main highlights of this update so you can make the most of its full potential.
Key features of the new update
Here are the three most important improvements in SKUDONET EE 10.0.5:
- Performance Boost with Angular v18.
Graphical User Interface updated to Angular v18, the latest version of a popular framework that helps power the user interface (GUI). This update makes the platform faster and more responsive, so you’ll experience smoother navigation and faster load times. It also increases the platform’s security by improving the way it handles data and user interactions, ensuring a more secure experience. - Dark Mode for Comfort and Accessibility.
Added Dark mode config in Theme settings. We improve the user experience with the SKUDONET dark mode, reducing the light emitted by device screens while maintaining the minimum color contrast ratios required for readability. - Easier Configuration with WAF File Upload.
The update allows you to upload WAF (Web Application Firewall) rule files directly into the system. This change simplifies and speeds up the process of setting up security rules for your web applications. Instead of manually configuring these rules, you can now upload a pre-made file, saving time and reducing the chance for errors in your setup.
Technical Improvements
In this update, several technical improvements have been made to optimize both system performance and security:
- Improved WAF Action Logs: SKUDONET’s Load Balancing module now includes detailed logs of disruptive WAF actions, showing any forbidden actions taken by the Web Application Firewall (WAF) directly in the access logs. This enhancement makes it easier to monitor and troubleshoot blocked traffic in your environment.
- Optimized Whitelist Policy Logs: The logging system for Whitelist policies has been optimized to reduce the volume of Kernel logs when a whitelist event occurs. This prevents log files from being flooded with unnecessary entries, making it easier to manage and review important events.
- Multiple Scopes in SNMP Configuration: SKUDONET now supports multiple source IPs in the SNMP configuration. This allows different devices or network segments to request SNMP OIDs, offering greater flexibility in how monitoring and network management systems interact with SKUDONET.
- Email Verification for Let’s Encrypt Certificate Deletion: The process for deleting Let’s Encrypt certificates has been improved. Now, before a certificate can be deleted, the system checks if an email is configured. If not, the deletion is not allowed. This ensures that the deletion process is secure, as it triggers a revocation request to Let’s Encrypt.
Bugfixes
As with every new release, the 10.0.5 update also includes some bugfixes to improve system stability and performance:
- Notification Setup Fix: The system now requires a user email and password to enable notifications, improving the setup process for better user experience.
- Backend Flapping Notifications Resolved: A fix was applied to prevent unnecessary notifications from being sent during the “flapping” window when an event is detected.
- Route Table Editing Fixed: The main route table can now be edited to better match specific routing needs.
- GPG File Issue Resolved: SKUDONET now properly configures the APT GPG key when an activation certificate is set up without internet access, preventing empty GPG files.
