At SKUDONET, we are proud to announce that we are now an official sponsor of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), one of the most influential organizations worldwide in web application security. This sponsorship reinforces our commitment to cybersecurity and the development of open, accessible technologies that protect businesses and users from cyber threats.
What is OWASP, and Why is it Important?
OWASP is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving web application security. It provides developers, businesses, and organizations with free tools, guides, and resources to protect against common threats. Known globally, OWASP is responsible for key industry initiatives, such as the renowned OWASP Top Ten, a list of the most critical web security vulnerabilities that every developer and cybersecurity professional should know.
Being an OWASP sponsor means that SKUDONET actively supports the organization’s mission and collaborates on projects that benefit the entire security community. This sponsorship not only allows us to contribute to the continuous improvement of application security but also aligns us with one of the most respected names in the industry.
Our Role in the OWASP CRS Project
In addition to being a sponsor, SKUDONET actively participates in one of OWASP’s most impactful projects: the OWASP ModSecurity Core Rule Set (CRS). This project is essential for web application protection, as it provides a set of security rules for Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) that helps mitigate common threats, such as SQL injections, cross-site scripting (XSS), and other critical attacks.
The OWASP CRS is an open-source rule set that enables WAFs to detect and block a wide variety of attacks, providing a solid foundation for protection without the need to develop custom rules from scratch. By contributing to this project, SKUDONET helps to improve security rules that protect applications worldwide, ensuring a higher level of security for all WAF users, including ourselves.

SKUDONET’s Commitment to Cybersecurity
Our collaboration with OWASP and the CRS project reflects our vision of accessible, high-standard cybersecurity, fostering security technologies that are available to everyone. Sponsoring OWASP not only strengthens our offerings at SKUDONET, but also supports our mission to make the internet a safer place for all.
